Section #6 - Program Ambassadors
What are Ambassadors?
Ambassadors are standout students within each cohort (VA, DC, and MD) who have excelled in their coursework by obtaining both fundamental certifications and have taken on a leadership role within the DataGen Scholars Program. These students are selected based on their performance and commitment to the program and are given extra responsibilities to help their peers succeed.
What Do Ambassadors Do?
As an ambassador, you’ll serve as a point of contact for fellow scholars who may need help navigating the program. From assisting with DataCamp assignments to providing guidance on using LinkedIn, ambassadors support their cohort. Along with these responsibilities, ambassadors help keep their cohort on track, ensuring no one is left behind. In recognition of their efforts, ambassadors receive additional compensation each week.
How to Become an Ambassador
If you’re interested in becoming an ambassador, your first step is to complete both fundamental certifications assigned to you on DataCamp: Data Literacy and AI Fundamentals. Ambassadors are selected based on their performance, leadership potential, and willingness to support their fellow scholars. Keep excelling in the program, stay engaged, and express your interest in taking on a leadership role, and you may be considered for this rewarding position in the future!
